Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Sorry for not posting lately, but I've been having a busy break going to the EM Retreat, catching up with family, Christmas parties, and now the Youth Group Retreat!

I hope today was a blessing for all of you! It sure was a blessing to me! As the new year approaches, lets anticipate God making this year the beginning of something great and amazing!

Matthew 1:18-25

English Standard Version (ESV)

The Birth of Jesus Christ

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ[a] took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed[b] to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, andyou shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took placeto fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us). 24 When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, 25 but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.

Verse of the Day!

A man's steps are from the Lord ; how then can man understand his way? (Proverbs 20:24 ESV)

Hello everyone! I'm currently at the EM retreat and taking some time to digest everything that has happened. This is a verse the guest speaker mentioned when he was sharing a portion of his testimony. Please pray that the rest of the retreat will be a blessing for everyone here and for the youth group retreat coming up next week!

Thank you!

Few announcements!

Hello All,

I am home finally for winter break! A couple things, I will be gone for a couple days at a time due to winter retreats for the English Ministry and Youth Group at Hebron Church, so my posts might become spontaneous. I apologize for that.

Second, I am currently looking up different blogging websites that will make it more interactive for you! The reader! I will try to make the transition to be a smooth as possible! I will let you know when
I will make that change.

Again, thank you for reading and keeping up with my life in as a freshmen in college!

End of First Semester!!

Thank you everyone who has been keeping up with my blog! It has been quite a journey this first semester here in Michigan. I apologize for not being able to write more about what I did here besides posting the daily reading and couple worship songs I really enjoyed. I will try to post more on what I do.

But for right now, it is finals week here in Michigan, so there is a lot of stress going through out the campus. I just ask for you to pray for the students here, and every where else preparing for the exams. I know it is easy to just forget about our daily devotions in this time.

As a side note, I might try to change the website of the blog I use. It seems there are better websites that offer easier access to previous posts and other nice features. Let me know what you think.

I hope to see many of you when I go back home! God bless you!

Psalm 61:3-5

for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

James 1:22

The Message (MSG)
22-24 Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.

Genesis 22:12

New International Version (NIV)
12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.

Just like Abraham, we have to be able to let go of even our most precious things for his name.

On a side note, it is finals week here at Michigan, so my posts might become staggered or sporadic, but I will try to post everyday!

Genesis 18:22-33

New International Version (NIV)
22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord.[a] 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare[b] the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
26 The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.
27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”
“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”
29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”
He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”
30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?”
He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”
31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”
He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”
32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”
He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”
33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

That is the mercy and grace of our God
