Psalm 38:3-4

English Standard Version (ESV)
There is no soundness in my flesh
    because of your indignation;
there is no health in my bones
    because of my sin.
For my iniquities have gone over my head;
    like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

Psalm 37:5-6

New Living Translation (NLT)
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
    Trust him, and he will help you.

    and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

Amos 3:3-7

New Living Translation (NLT)

Witnesses against Guilty Israel

Can two people walk together
    without agreeing on the direction?
Does a lion ever roar in a thicket
    without first finding a victim?
Does a young lion growl in its den
    without first catching its prey?
Does a bird ever get caught in a trap
    that has no bait?
Does a trap spring shut
    when there’s nothing to catch?
When the ram’s horn blows a warning,
    shouldn’t the people be alarmed?
Does disaster come to a city
    unless the Lord has planned it?
Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything
    until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.

Today, I was with couple members of my life group, and we just spent some time reading the Word together and these verses really stuck out to me. It was really eye-opening, and I felt that I needed to hear this. As verse 3 mentions, how can two people walk if they can't agree what the destination. When we are walking with God, how can we ever expect to walk together, side by side, if our goals are so very different. Its just not possible if we have different expectations.

Although many times, we struggle and complain that God is not leading me in the direction or He is not guiding me, or He has abandoned me. However, it is so NOT true. As verse 7 mentions, God always reveals his plans to us. He wants us to know what he has in store for our future so that we may be on the same page. Sometimes, we feel like He isn't telling us anything, but maybe its because we are so loud and we just scream out to God asking for what we want. We just scream and shout and cry out to God to give us what we want, but maybe what we need to do is just sit and listen to God talking to us. Many times, I feel that my  own voice is covering up the voice of God. I'm so consumed in my own desires that it seems like God has abandoned me. In fact, God is trying to communicate with us so that we may walk in the same direction as him.

The best thing maybe is not to cry out, but to sit down and just listen to what God has to say.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. (Psalms 27:1, 2 ESV)

Thanksgiving Break

Hello All,

I apologize for not posting over the Thanksgiving Holiday! Going back home was such a blessing! I have to say that home is truly the best place to be. I am so thankful for the wonderful family and friends I have. I had a great time spending Thanksgiving with my family and relatives, and just having fun with my friends. I really did miss how much you have in Illinois. Let's not forget how great and awesome our God is for blessing us with a time to be with the people we love!

For prayer requests, I think this prayer goes out to all the college students as we prepare for final exams and the end of the semester. There will be a lot of work that will come.

Also, please pray for our sister, Eunice Lee, as she is leaving for Thailand for missions tomorrow! Please keep her in your prayers. Check out her blog as she is gone for 4 weeks: www.eunicelee2012.wordpress.com !

Let's continue to be in prayer and the Word!

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

New Living Translation (NLT)
13 That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. 14 God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.

Ecclesiastes 8:15

15 So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.

Psalm 6:2

New Living Translation (NLT)

Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak.
    Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.

When we are struggling, when we are in pain, when we are going through a rough time
lets ask God to help us. Let's ask God to heal us. Let's ask God to give us strength.

God wants us to ask him for help. He knows we can't do it on our own. We need him,
and He wants us to need him.

Worship!

I really really enjoy this song! When I heard the lyrics of this song, I couldn't believe how true this was. Without Jesus Christ, our lives were so black and white. Our lives were so dull and boring, and we had no idea what was what. Now, with Jesus in our lives everything is in color! There is so much joy in this world and so much to see!

Psalm 3:3-4

The Message (MSG)
3-4 But you, God, shield me on all sides;
You ground my feet, you lift my head high;
With all my might I shout up to God,
His answers thunder from the holy mountain.

I think this verse is just so true everyday. Especially after what I experienced today at life group, God really shields us and keeps us anchored. Jesus is our anchor, and he keeps us stable and steady when we are wavering and falling.
Recalling back, I still remember what Pastor Joseph told me during summer missions. God always answers our prayers with one of three answers: yes, no, or be patient and wait. I think this is very true. Many times God answers us with "not yet", but we take it as God not answering us which is very wrong. This implies God is ignoring is which is not true at all. God always listens to us for he is by our side, and he never leaves us on our own. So I encourage everyone who reads this continue in your prayers even though you feel like your prayers aren't being answer. God is answering by telling its not the right time yet. God's timing is perfect for He is perfect!
